High School played the best I've seen them play for the first 5-10 points of the first set, giving the Lady Warrior quite a challenge. Giving back as much as they got and then some, the Claremore Warriors are one of the top ranked teams in the area and our conference. Some of the highlights of the match include ace serves by Penka, Braun, McCrate and Conway and blocks by McCrate, Conway & Braun. The Lady Cru teamed up with sets by Flemming & Conway and hits by McCrate & Penka as well as a back row hit by Jemma. The first 2 sets end in favor of the Lady Warries 12-25 and 11-25.

In the 3rd set, Maggie Pilkington had 2 great diving bumps to keep the ball alive and was supported by Flemming with a diving dig and Gonzales with a backward bump over. Flemming with another amazing dig this time supported by Jemma with a hit over, the Lady Warriors return that hit but fail to return a bump over by Jemma. Despite a great start and hustle by our Lady Cru, the Lady Warriors also win the 3rd set 12-25 and the match.

The middle school Lady Cru volleyball team had a great match against Mercy Institute. They had several great rallies, passes, and serves, and the Lady Cru won the first two sets and the match......
Starting the high school match, Alison Penka serves an ace and Kyah Braun 2 bump overs for the Lady Cru. Jaycee McCrate has a hit and then served 9 aces in a row and later scored set point with a bump over. Lady Cru win 25-17. In the 2nd set Penka again starts with an ace, Emme Conway has a block/tip at the net, followed by 3 more aces by Penka. Natalie O'Brock with a kill set by Jemma McCrate and Jaycee with another bump over add the the Lady Cru score. Emme Conway sends over 3 aces and Flemming sets McCrate for 2 kills in a row. A pass by O'Brock to McCrate will add another kill to the Lady Cru tally and Flemming with 1 and O'Brock with 3 add too with a bump over that lands in Mercy Territory. Hayley Hughes adds to the ace tally with one of her own and Penka with a hit just off the net and kill at the net to bring Braun to serve yet another ace, this 1 to win the set 25-8. In the 3rd set, Mercy starts off in the lead until Rori Gonzales serves an ace and McCrate adds another 2 kills, set by Braun and Conway. Braun also has a tip over and a pair of aces. Mercy goes in the lead but the Lady Cru come back with a classic bump, set, spike by McCrate, Conway, & Penka. Flemming and Conway each serve aces and Gonzales sets McCrate for another kill. Gonzales adds another point with a bump over and an ace and Braun with another tip over helping to create a little bit of a lead. Mercy starts coming back and takes the lead with some help by the Lady Cru hitting the ball out of bounds and miscommunication. A diving bump over by Gonzales and bump over by Jemma starts things back on track but another out of bounds hit by the Lady Cru and Mercy wins the 3rd set 19-25.

In the 4th set, Braun & Conway team up with a with a block to a hit and Penka serves a few more aces. Conway has a block at the net and McCrate joins in with 2 more kills. Mercy starts to chip away at the Lady Cru lead with several missed balls and balls sent out of bounds by the Lady Cru. Then Flemming and McCrate connect for a set to bump over and a hit and Conway serves 2 more aces as well as a serve not returned to get their lead back on track. Again set by Flemming, McCrate fakes the hit and tips it over for a point. A bump over by O'Brock and Flemming with another ace keep the lead. O'Brock sets McCrate for another kill and another couple of sets by Braun to Conway send the ball to hit in Mercy territory and keeps O'Brock serving for an ace. Penka with another ace followed by a Conway set and McCrate kill bring the Lady Cru to set point. Penka serves an ace for the win. 25-11

Lady Crusader Volleyball had a great match v. Cornerstone Lady Warriors. In the first set, Jaycee McCrate has a bump over, an ace, and a kill. Kyah Braun, Jemma McCrate, and Kaytlyn Flemming add to the Lady Cru Score with 4, 2, and 3 aces, respectively. Alison Penka and Natalie O'Brock each have a diving bump, Penka sends her's over and O'Brock's pass goes to Jemma McCrate who bumps it over, both scoring for the Lady Cru. Penka also serves well with 5 aces/unreturned serves, and the Lady Cru win the set 24-14.

In the second set, the middle school came in to represent the Lady Cru. Emme Conway and Rori Gonzales had a few aces, a few great rallies, and a close set, with the Lady Cru pulling out the win 27-25.

The third set starts off strong for the Lady Cru with a kill by Jemma, a 3 by Jaycee, a dig that goes over for a point by Flemming, a back row hit by Conway, and more ace serving by Jemma (3), Braun, and O'Brock, whose ace brings in the win for the set 25-17 and the match.

Middle School Lady Cru take on the Lady Lions at Owasso Prep. The first set was competitive with several great rallies and serves but the Lady Lions came out on top. The second set the Lady Cru struggled to get some points on the board. After the Lions had created quite a lead, Lady Cru started coming back but it wasn't enough and the Lady Lions won the set and match
In the High School Match Alison Penka starts off the Lady Cru scoring with a hit, a bump over and a dig. Kyah Braun adds to the score with an ace and 4 other serves the Lions fail to return and Rori Gonzales has a nice dig that goes over and hits the floor in Lion Territory. The Lions however had their ace server bring in quite a few points along with several hits of their own winning the 1st set 12-15.

The Second set comes in much closer with Maggie Pilkington with a bump over that the Lions hit out of bounds. Jemma McCrate gets on the board with a pair of aces and Natalie O'Brock has a back row bump, 4 aces and another serve that the Lions fail to return. Lady Cru score 19 points but the Lions reach 25 first.

In the 3rd set, the Lady Cru up their game as Penka goes on an 8 point serving run, 5 of them aces. Penka also has 2 kills, one of them set by O'Brock. Gonzales has a bump over for a point and Pilkington serves a pair of aces. McCrate has a kill and O'Brock a dig at set point for the Lions that starts the best rally of the night by both teams. Lady Cru win that point and Braun extends the set 1 more point with a push over. However a serve into the net gives the Lady Lions the set and match 22-25.

Middle School Lady Cru struggle in the first set but come back with a strong second to split one win for Wright and one win for ILCA. The third set is a close match but the Wildcats pull off the win.

High School has a few good moments in each set. In the 1st set Alison Penka has a bump over and 2 aces plus another serve with no return by the Wildcats. Jemma McCrate will add to the talky with a back row hit, bump over, and hit not returned. Lady Cru lose the 1st set 14-25. In the 2nd set, Penka and Kyah Braun each serve an ace and Penka has a push over but the Wildcats still come out on top 7-25. In the 3rd set Jemma McCrate has a tip over, a hit, and a push over. Penka and Natalie O'Brock able to respond to Wright serves that were giving the Crusaders trouble. Hailey Hughes has a serve that doesn't get returned. There were few good rallies as the Lady Cru fight to get back in this match including a dig by Rori Gonzales, sets by Hailey Hughes and passes, bumps and sets by Penka. However the Wildcats come out on top to win set 12-25 and the match.
Lady Cru Volleyball take on the Cookson Hill Chargers at Home, Tuesday, September 17th.

Middle School Lady Cru had a great match, although they lost the first set, they came back and won the 2nd set, both of which were close in score. Then they came out and dominated the 3rd set to win the match....
High School Lady Cru startes off looking good with several great rallies but struggled to get more than a couple points on the board as the Chargers created a lead. Jemma McCrate serves an ace and Kyah Braun comes to the net for a block for a poitn. There are several more great rallies between the two teams including a couple digs by Alison Penka, but the Chargers take the set 9-25.

In the second, Natlie O'Brock serves an ace to help get things started for the Lady Cru. A set by Jemma McCrate to Penka sends over a hit the Chargers fail to return, keeping things going in the right direction for the Lady Cru. McCrate also has a serve and a hit that stays in Charger territory. Emme Conway steps up to the net for a block to add to the Lady Cru tally. Braun serves a pair of aces and Hailey Hughes wins a couple more points with her serves. Natalie O'Brock gets on the floor during a couple great rallies. A set by Emme Conway to a hit by Penka will give the Lady Cru another point. But the Lady Cru still trail the Lady Chargers by 7. The Chargers sit at the set point as a hit out of bounds by the Chargers brings Braun up to serve another ace. Braun keeps serving as the Chargers send the ball out of bounds or Lady Cru returns their return. McCrate gets on the floor for a bump over that wins the Lady Cru another crucial point, bringing Conway up to serve with the game tied 25-25. After couple of nice serves by Conway and rallies by both teams, the Lady Cru win 27-25.

The 3rd set is another competitive one with Braun starting things off with a pair of aces. The Chargers respond with an ace of their own. Lady Cru struggle to return a serve until Penka breaks it up with a bump over that stays on the Charger side of the net. O'Brock and Penka connect during a rally and Braun sends bump over for a point. Conway again at the net with a block/tip. O'Brock, Kaytlyn Flemming and Conway connect with passes and Hughes send the ball back over when the Chargers return it. Flemming has also been all over the court and floor tonight. The score stays close, but the Lady Chargers take the 3rd set 18-25.

In the 4th set, O'Brock serves a pair of aces, later with an ace by McCrate and Rori Gonzales. A nice rally follows with a hit by Penka to push the Lady Charges to hit a bit too hard with their return, sending the ball out. O'Brock & Flemming each with a bump over for a point. Conway serves several aces tying the set at 22-22. After a hit into the net, Penka has push over to tie it back up. Flemming serves an ace and in the next play Braun comes in clutch finding a hole on the Charger side with a bump over that hits the floor on the Charger side to win the set 25-23 and sending the match into a 5th set. Early in the set, Hughes slows a hit down with a set sending Conway scrambling after the ball. She manages to send it towards the net and Braun swings around a dig that sends the ball over for a needed Crusader point. Penka serves for several points during which Braun gets a block/tip at the net. Hughes serves several points of her own including an ace. Flemming and Braun connect for a couple passes and later Flemming, Braun and Penka work to send the ball over for another Lady Cru point as they take and keep the lead. O'Brock comes in to serve and an and Penka gets the Lady Cru to set point with a block. The Chargers are not going to give it away easily and tie it up. Conway serves at set point for a great rally until the Chargers send the ball out of bounds and Crusaders win 16-14.

Middle school Lady Cru put up a good fight against the OK Flame. The 1st set starts with some great rallies, points, and serves going back and forth, the score staying close. OK, Flame came out ahead of both sets to win the first 2 sets and sweep the Game.

High School starts off strong with 3 aces by Jaycee McCrate, but Ok Flame come back and take the lead with several serves and rallies the Lady Cru fail to return. Kyah Braun comes up with a tip block, but the Flame keep pulling away. McCrate has a hit from back row and later a pair of blocks at the net. Kyah Braun, McCrate and Alison Penka team up for a bump, set spike to break up Flame scoring. Flame wins the first set 14-24. In the second set, the Flame start out with a few aces.
.Maggie Pilkington passes to Penka for a kill to put Lady Cru on the scoreboard brining Emme Conway up to serve an ace and later at the net with a block. McCrate takes the serve with a bump from back court that lands in Flame territory but the Flame keep their lead winning 8-25. Natalie O'Brock starts off serving for Lady Cru in the 3rd set with an ace. Penka serves another ace but the serve then goes back to Flame as they widen their lead. Pilkington takes a hit with a bump that sends the ball back over to Flame territory where it will stay so O'Brock can serve another ace, but Flame finishes the set and the match winning 11-25.

Middle school starts with a great set, a close one to start with points back and forth, then the Lady Cru pull away after several aces and a couple good rallies, winning the first set. The Second set Lady Cru stayed in the lead most of the set. Mingo Valley kept it close though, looking to take over at any point they could. They finally did take the lead at set point and managed to win the set taking the game to a 3rd set, which was another great set by both teams with several great serves and rallies. Lady Cru took the lead early and kept that lead to win the set and the Game!

The High School Lady Cru fall behind quickly in their first set, but a kill, a bump over and an ace by Jaycee McCrate help win a few points. Lady Cru battle through several great rallies, but each time the point went to Mingo. Mingo wins the first set 8-25. In the second set, the Lady Cru keep the score much closer as Allison Penka serves a ball Mingo cannot return to tie things up. Rori Gonzales has a couple great diving bump overs and scores with one of them. Emme Conway steps up at the net with a kill, and a great rally by the Lady Cru starts with a great hustle and dig by Hailey Hughes, a diving dig by Natlie O'Brock, a pass by Penka and kill by Conway for a point. Kyah Braun serves and ace for another Lady Cru Point as they trail by 5. As the Lady Eagles near set point, their lead widens, but Alison Penka brings in 3 aces and a kill to narrow the gap to 5. But the Lady Cru can't overtake them and the Lady Eagles win the 2nd set 17-25. Playing best of 5, the Lady Cru needs to win the next set.
Conway starts things off with an ace, Gonzales and McCrate connect for a set, hit and Penka adds to the tally with an ace. The Lady Eagles remain in the league after a few plays of their own but McCrate steps up for another kill at the net. McCrate bumps it over and brings Gonzales up to serve for a couple more points that will tie it up. Conway works to keep them in the game with a block tip that will bring McCrate up to serve up an ace. Braun and McCrate scramble for a set and dig over but the Eagles keep their lead. Braun with a block that Hughes supports with a bump over, keeping Conway serving including an ace. Lady Cru keep after it and Penka shortens the Lady Eagles lead to 2 with a couple of aces. But the Eagles pull away again and with the set 21-25 and the game.

Middle School Lady Cru put together several great rallies, had some great serves and hustle! The Lady Lions answered right back and managed to win the first set. In the second set, the Lady Crusaders and Lions traded points, again with good serves, rallies and hustle, until our Lady Cru pulled away to lead most of the set. The Lady Lions came back with some hustle of their own to tie it up and then take the lead. The two teams then battle for set point, needing to win by 2....

Alison Penka leads off for the Lady Cru High School match with 7 aces. Kyah Braun finishes a lob sent over by the Lady Lions with a kill. Jaycee McCrate challenges the Lady Lions with her serves winning 5 aces of her own. Penka sets up McCrate for a kill as Kaytlyn Flemming serves making an ace to add to the Crusader tally. McCrate pushes the ball over to stop a rally pushing the lead the Crusaders have built. Penka is back up to serves and doesn't disappoint, bringing the Lady Cru to set point and finishing it off for win 25-13.

In the second set, Rori Gonzales has a pair of serves that the Lady Lions fail to return. Kyah Braun has a tip over that also lands in Lion territory and Maggie Pilkington keeps the Crusader scoring going with a bump over from back row. Penka back at the serving lines brings in 3 more points with aces. The Lady Lions gather a string of points until a side out brings Conway up to serve a couple of points. McCrate takes a hard serve sending it back over the Lady Lions where it stays. Braun also has a bump over that will stay over for a point. Jordyn McCrate helps win a point for the Cru with a bump over, Conway following it with a block to keep it over. The Lady Lions take advantage of a few side outs and win the set 23-25 pushing the match to a 3rd set.

Penka serves a point for our Lady Cru. Pilkington adds another with a bump over after a great rally. The Lions come back and take the lead, but the Lady Cru answer back to tie and then come in front. Lions and Lady Cru trade hitting it out or short, keeping the score close. Hailey Hughes gets on the scoreboard with a push over and McCrate kills the ball after a scramble by the Lions bringing Braun up to serve 3 aces. Hughes brings in a clutch ace serve to bring the Lady Cru to set point. An outbounds serve by the Lions bring the Lady Cru to win the set 15-11 and the Match!

Our Lady Cru volleyball take on the Claremore Warriors at Claremore. Our middle school Lady Cru start off back and forth and then fall a bit behind. They didn't give up and came back to tie it up mid set, the score stayed close with some nice serves and rallies but the Lady Warriors pulled back in front and won the first set. Second set our Lady Cru again started behind but again slowly came back this time to win the set!.....

High School Lady Cru start off a bit slow in scoring with an ace server by the Lady Warriors but after a side out and great block by Jaycee McCrate and Emme Conway, the Lady Cru start chipping away at the lead set by their opponents. McCrate takes it on herself to keep the ball out of Crusader territory with a few great digs, bumps and a kill. The rest of the Lady Cru then follow suit with a nice dig by Alison Penka as well as one by Kyah Braun followed by a tip over by Conway. Despite the hustle and great plays, the Lady Warriors pull away to win the first set 9-25.

Second set starts a little better. Jemma McCrate takes a hard serve but responds with a nice pass to Jaycee who sets up Penka for the kill. Hailey Hughes has a serve that the Warriors cannot return and Jaycee has a bump over for another point for the Lady Cru. But the Lady Warrior dominate the scoreboard again winning 9-25.

The third set was a close match with both teams fighting for the win! Crusaders tied it up at set point but the Lady Warriors were able to get the final 2 points for the win. Third set the Warriors get an early lead, but the Lady Cru do not let it keep them down. Braun with serve that the Warriors cannot return after which Hailey Hughes comes up for block/tip that Jaycee takes with a kill. Conway sets up Jaycee for another hit that will land in Warrior Territory. Lady Cru and Warriors trade short serves and several great rallies just end up falling in Crusader territory as the Warriors continue to widen their lead. Hughes sets a kill for Jaycee that gets them an extra point compared to the last 2sets but the Warriors still sweep the match.

Our High School Lady Cru starts off with a bang as Alison Penka serves 10 aces in a row. Hailey Hughes adds to that with a pushover—Kyah Braun with another Crusader point with a bump over from back court. Lady Cru let Mercy back in the game with several out-of-bounds and miscommunications but then turned things back around, maintaining their lead. Penka brings the tally up with a pushover and a few more ace serves. After an ace by Braun, Mercy attempts to keep the ball alive with a kick after a serve by Braun, but the ball falls out. Hailey Hughes serves a couple of points, followed by a hit by Jaycee McCrate that brings the Lady Cru to set point. Penka finishes the first set with a pushover. Lady Cru wins 25-19.

The 2nd set starts off much closer with several rallies including a hit by Jaycee McCrate that doesn't stays on Mercy's side. Hailey Hughes serves an ace and keeps serving to give the Lady Cru a little cushion. Jemma McCrate set by her sister has a hit of her own that stays on their opponent's side. Jaycee serves a few aces to double the Crusader lead. Braun's first 7 serves are an ace, bringing the lady cru to match point. And an 8th ace will do it! Crusaders win 25-9.

Conway wins the first Crusader point of the 3rd set with a kill at the net. Jemma sends over a bump that Mercy fails to return for another Lady Cru point. Kaytlyn Flemming steps up to serves and the ball hits the floor for another Lady cru ace. Alison Penka with another dive and dig and Hughes keeps it alive for Conway to tip it over. Another dig by Penka looks be a lost cause but Hughes doesn't give up on and tips it over to help the Lady Cru chip away the lead Mercy has acrued. Mercy is at set point as Penka comes up to serve for 3 in row, but it's not quite enough and Mercy wins 18-25.

Penka starts the Lady Cru off with a pushover. Jaycee has a push over of her own and then fires up for a kill. Conway sets up Jaycee for another kill as the score stays close, Lady Cru just ahead. Jaycee puts an end to a short rally with a sharp tip over then steps up to serve 6 of 8 serves as aces. Jaycee wins the serve back for the Lady Cru with a bump from back court. Braun keeps Maggie Pilkington serving with a couple push overs points and a healthy lead for the Lady Cru. Jaycee will finish off the 4th set with set by Conway for the kill and the win. Lady Cru over Mercy Institute 25-16.
Lady Cru takes on Cornerstone Christian Academy. Thursday, August 29.
Our Lady Crusaders team up for a Junior High/JV best of 3 sets match at the Cornerstone Warriors. Everyone played in this friendly, competitive game! The Lady Cru beat the Warriors in the first set 25-20. The 2nd set finished with a score of 25-15. Several Lady Crusaders with an ace serve, including Natalie O'Brock, Emme Conway, Rori Gonzales, Jordan McCrate, Jemma McCrate, Kyah Braun, Kaytlyn Flemming, and Alison Penka. The play of the day goes to Alison Penka with a great dig. The Lady Warriors return the ball, and Conway gets it with a kill. Penka serves an ace for the win!
Lady Cru take on the Tyro Christian. Tuesday, August 27.
Our Immanuel Lady Crusaders played at Tyro Christian School. Middle School started off with a set that stayed close in score the whole set. Natalie O'Brock brought in the win with a pair of ace serves! Tyro pulled off the win of the second set, but our Lady Cru came back to win the third set and the match......
In the High School JV match Tyro takes an early lead. Score comes to a tie after Jaycee McCrate and Kaytlyn Flemming keep Kyah Braun serving with a block and a push over. McCrate brings the Lady Cru into the lead with a kill at the net. Tyro answers back with a kill of their own. A sideout brings McCrate up to serve and she starts with 3 aces as Lady Cru takes the lead. Alison Penka has a push over and 3 aces to add to the Crusader tally. Hayley Hughes and then Flemming sets for McCrate for a pair of kills. McCrate adds a couple more points with a push over and a back row bump over. Tyro comes back to tie it up and the teams battle for set point. Tyro pulls it off winning 27-29.

2nd set the serve goes back and forth between the Lady Cru and Lady Eagles until McCrate goes on a 8 serve run mixed with aces and hits by McCrate. Emme Conway enters the scoreboard with a block. Penka tips the ball over to land into Eagle territory for a point. Bump, set, push by McCrate, Hughes and Braun keep the Crusaders in the lead as they come up to set point. Penka serves the point winning the set 25-15.

McCrate gets a Crusader point with a bump over to start the 3rd and final set. A tip over by McCrate bring Rori Gonzales up to serve a pair of aces. A back row bump by Hughes ties it back up after some back and forth. Conway serves 2 aces to increase the Lady Cru lead. Hughes and McCrate fight for another Crusader point with a dig and push that the Eagles can't return. Conway's 3rd Ace bring it to set point. A bump by Conway to Penka for a push over will seal the win for the Lady Crusaders.

In the Middle School Match, it's looking good for the Lady Cru as Emme Conway starts her service with a pair of aces, Braylynn Shafter wins her first Crusader point with a bump over and Camryn Bence serves a pair of aces as well. Jordyn McCrate hits a bump over to add to the Crusader points. Conway and Bence combine for another point with a set-bump. Lady Cru was leading for most of the set but the Lady Chargers slowly came back to slow and steady win the 1st set....

In the Middle School Match, it's looking good for the Lady Cru as Emme Conway starts her service with a pair of aces, Braylynn Shafter wins her first Crusader point with a bump over, and Camryn Bence serves a pair of aces as well. 2nd set was another close game, with Ezra Clark getting her first Crusader points and Conway adding to her ace tally. The Chargers had a few aces of their own and pulled off the win.

High School Lady Crusaders look to avenge their younger teammates as they too take on the Chargers. Although the 2 teams didn't get to face each other in the Cookson Hills Tournament last weekend, the Chargers finished just ahead of the Lady Crusaders. Hayley Hughes helps bring the Lady Cru their first point, bumping it back in bounds to Jaycee McCrate who bumps it over. Chargers go on a run as the Lady Cru struggle to return a ball. Alison Penka, Kaytlyn Flemming and McCrate combine to interrupt the Chargers scoring. Bump, set, spike combo from Kyah Braun to McCrate followed by a push over by Braun starts things back in the right direction for the Lady Cru. A bump over by Maggie Pilkington brings another Crusader point. Kaytlyn Flemming gets on the floor for a nice dig as the Chargers continue to score. Crusaders fail to come back and the Chargers take the first set.

The 2nd set Braun starts of the scoring for Lady Cru with a bump over. Conway continues it with a serve the Chargers cannot return. A great dig by Rori Gonzales combined with a bump over by Penka followed by a Penka-Braun-McCrate bump-set-spike adds to the Crusader score. McCrate with a three aces and another serve the Chargers cannot return bring the Lady Cru back within range of the Chargers. The Lady Cru take the lead for the first time after a push over by Braun. Gozales puts the Lady Cru back in front with a of aces. Gonzales adds one more ace after a Charger timeout. McCrate comes from back row for a kill that is negated by crossing the back row line. McCrate keeps the ball alive with her foot and Gonzales send it over for a point. McCrate bumps it to the line to keep Braun serving at set point. The Chargers hit the ball out of bounds after a nice rally giving the Lady Cru the win of the 2nd set.

Lady Cru start 3rd set in the lead and stay there with a couple aces by Penka. Bump-set-spike by McCrate, Gonzales, and Conway help keep the lead. Gonzales pushes the lead farther with an ace. Penka, with a kill set up by Conway, brings Lady Cru to the set point. The Chargers sneak in a few points until McCrate bumps it over, and the Chargers fail to return. Lady Cru is ahead with two sets to the Charger's 1.

The 4th set starts with some great rallies by both teams, and the score stays close. Penka and McCrate connect for a nice play, and McCrate serves an ace, but the Chargers take the lead and add a few more points. Gonzales bumps it to the line for a point, but the serve goes back to the Chargers until Flemming sets it for a roll across the net that falls in Charger territory. Chargers get the serve right back and win the 4th set splitting it 2 sets a piece.

Chargers take a good lead to start the 5th and final set. Conway gets in an ace before the Chargers continue scoring. McCrate breaks up the score with a pass to Braun who pushed it over to bring Hughes up to serve and ace. Jaycee hits the net on her serve to sneak it over, then follows it with two aces. Charges go on a scoring run that the Lady Cru can't stop. Chargers win the match 3 sets to 2.

Owasso Prep Match, Aug 20:
Immanuel Lady Cru Volleyball hosted Owasso Preparatory Academy Lady Lions, our home season opener. The middle school Lady Cru struggled to respond to Prep's first server in the first set. They managed to get a few points, but the first set came to a close in favor of the Lady Lions. In the second set, the Lady Cru did much better but still couldn’t hold off Prep. Owasso Prep won the match after two sets....

The High school court started similarly, with the Lady Lions serving with quite a roar and Lady Cru having difficulty returning it. Things began to pick up for the Lady Cru after Jaycee McCrate brought down a kill. Kyah Braun added to the tally with a pushover. McCrate adds four more points to Lady Cru with a hit set by Kaytlyn Flemming, another kill, and a pushover to the backcourt. It brings the set close, but the Lady Lions close out, winning the set 21-24.

In the next set, the Lady Cru again had trouble with Prep's serves but quickly figured things out to get back in the game. A Set by Emme Conway to Rory Gonzales for a hit brings in a point. Conway is on the score again with a pushover, but Lady Cru cannot keep it going, and Prep starts pulling away until McCrate comes up to serve after a side out. McCrate aces 3 to help stop Prep's run. A pushover tip by Braun brings Flemming up to serve, and she does so with an ace. Conway sets McCrate for another kill and Natalie O’Brock bumps it over for a point for Cru. Again, the Lady Cru falls short, and the Lions win set two 17-25.

In the third set, Maggie Pilkington came in with an Ace. Several great rallies and an incredible scramble play started with a great diving play by Alison Penka and finished with a kill by McCrate. Penka dives again, and McCrate adds 2 more points with a bump to the backcourt and a tip-over. Despite their hustle and several great plays, the defending conference champion defeated our Lady Cru with a third set.
Cookson Hills Tournament August 16 and 17:
The opening game of the season started out strong for our Lady Cru volleyball team at the Cookston Hills Early Season Tournament with a great serve by Kaytlyn Flemming. TCCA came back with some strong servers of their own. Jaycee McCrate had an Ace, along with several hits & passes combined, and a nice couple of tips by Kyah Braun brought us a couple more points. Alison Penka had several great serves and a few nice hits. Several Lady Cru had their first varsity points, including a serve by Natalie O'Brock. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough, and TCCA won both games to sweep the match.
2nd match of the tournament, the girls looked more relaxed and played well against the runner-up for conference champions, Liberty. Jaycee McCrate started us off with a nice backcourt bump, bringing in Rori Gonzales to serve 4 points in a row. Liberty then answered back with 4 points of their own. Emme Conway got on the scoreboard with a block/tip and served an Ace. Maggie P entered the scorebooks with an Ace serve of her own but not enough to overtake Liberty. Liberty went on an 8-point run in the next game until Jaycee McCrate teamed up with Emme Conway with a block and tip. Lady Cru had hustle and some great plays, but Liberty pulled through for the win.

3rd tournament game v defending Conference Champions, Owasso Prep, Natalie O'Brock got our 1st point with a bump to the court. A bit of back-and-forth on the score through the middle of the game. Kyah Braun came in with a pushover for a point, and Jaycee McCrate with a back-row hit. Owasso went on a run of hits mixed with a few short serves. In the 2nd game, Alison Penka gets a pushover point, Emme Conway sets Jaycee McCrate for a kill, and Natalie O'Brock gets a hit that Owasso fails to return! Jaycee McCrate has a great block, but Owasso rallies and gets the point. A short serve ends the game, giving Owasso the sweep and ending the match.

Day 2 of the Cookson Hills Early Season Tournament started with our Lady Cru vs Baha. Jaycee McCrate had a nice bump over for our first point. Baha went on a string of 3 serves interrupted by a tip-over and a block by J. McCrate. Alison Penka kept the action going with a couple of Aces. Kyah Braun set up Kaytlyn Flemming for a hit, but then Baha answered back with a couple of wins at the net. Natalie snuck a serve to the line for an Ace. Kyah Braun with a dig to Emme Conway for a hit, followed by another point for Conway with a tipover. Braun & J McCrate help the Lady Cru hold off Baha, Braun with a block/tip, and J McCrate with a hit. Ace serve by Conway and a few good rallies put Lady Cru within 2 points while Baha sat at the set point until Cru failed to get back over, giving Baha the set 22-25. 2nd set, Cru struggled at the start until a nice play by J McCrate to Conway, who set Penka for a hit. McCrate gets the ball back with a push-over to the backcourt to set up Penka for an Ace serve. Conway serves another Ace. Struggling to stay in the set, J McCrate comes in with 3 Aces in a 7 serve streak. Braun starts a serving streak of her own when Baha fails to return 4 of her 6 serves, J McCrate coming in with a backcourt bump. Baha answers back to win the match 21-25.

Emme Conway has a tip-over that TCCA cannot return, turning things over to Alison Penka, who starts her service with an Ace. Rori Gonzales adds to the score with an Ace of her own. Conway also follows suit, adding 2 more Aces to the Cru tally. TCCA comes back with a few aces of their own. Lady Cru struggles to return a serve until McCrate, Conway & Penka scrap together with some pushes & digs for a point. McCrate with a hit, followed by a hit by Kyah Braun to bring Lady Cru to set point. Braun and Penka team up with a tipover to win their 1st Varsity Set of the season! 25-18

After a taste of winning, the Crusaders come out hungry for more! Natalie O'Brock has a stream of serves, including an Ace. Hailey Hughes, Penka, and McCrate stop the comeback by TCCA with a set, bump, hit! Kyah Braun with her first Varsity kill set up by McCrate. Conway, with a sneaking took over, gets us another point. An Ace will start McCrate's service adding another ace. O'Brock sneaks in a tipover for a point as McCrate keeps serving. TCCA gets the serve back and goes on a serving streak to take the lead away from Cru and tie it up. TCCA takes the lead, but ILCA takes it back with a few great serves by Penka, including an Ace, a clutch bump over by O'Brock, and a pushover by Hughes for her first Varsity score. Another bump over by O'Brock, followed by another Penka Ace, brings Lady Cru 3 points away from their 1st match win. Two Aces by Gonzales brings in the win! 25-16
