The Springy-Heeled Cruising Cru Complete Their CC Season…

at Cushing and Siloam Springs.

In their final two meets of the year, the Cross-Country Cru competed well, both at Cushing on October 11th, and at Siloam Springs, Arkansas, on October 21st

In her final tune-up, pre-HCAA Conference meet of the year in Cushing, Isabella led the Lady Cru, finishing in 1st place, all while keeping up with the John Deere Gator vehicle! She, however, surpassed her already impressive time of 7:26 on the windy, hilly, somewhat wet Cushing course when she ran at the Conference meet on Friday. In fact, Isabella broke the 7-minute mark in Siloam Springs, finishing in 6:59. Her blazing heels outpaced every other lady that day, save one, as Isabella willed herself to 2nd place overall!

Isaiah, meanwhile, led the way for the ES Boys at Cushing, sprinting his way to yet another Top-5 finish, completing his race in 7:03. Despite running the tougher 2-mile at the HCAA Conference, Isaiah still outpaced 53 young men.

Ever-the-consistent standard-bearer for the HS Cru, Jacob finished just outside the Top-25 at Conference, yet he still outhustled 45 fellow runners, a number that actually pales in comparison to the number he outran the week before at Cushing: 98.

Crushing her already solid 10:05 time at Cushing from the week before, Evie finished her season on a most solid note, finding her way across the finish line in a time of 9:13, showing some seasoned sprinting legs down the homestretch, as she ended the season with a Top-20 finish, earning 18th! No young lady her age or younger outran Evie in Arkansas on Friday!

Knocking a full minute off his time from the week before when he ran at Cushing, James ran a speedy 7:48 in Arkansas, making him the 4th-fastest boy of his grade!

Meanwhile, Samuel, Stephen, and Malachi all managed to outrun their times at Cushing as well. In fact, Stephen outdueled his Cushing time by almost 1:40 when he crossed the finish line in Siloam Springs in 8:34, while Malachi outdid himself by more than a minute, too, finishing in 9:28. For his part, Samuel’s fluid form carried him past a dozen older boys—no small task!

In their final races of the year at Cushing, meanwhile, Makena led the way for these teammates among the Lady Cru, running her last mile in 9:08 and capturing 15th place, while Dori finished just behind her in 9:55. Emma, moreover, knocked 46 seconds off her time from the previous race, too!

Keeping pace with Isaiah for much of the race in Cushing, Wyatt ended his season with a Top-20 finish and a 1-mile time of 7:49.

Also finishing their seasons at Cushing were Jas, Brilaynn, and Kevin. While Jas outpaced 13 fellow runners, Brilaynn managed to cut down his time from his previous 1-mile race by 47 seconds! In the 5K, meanwhile, Kevin returned to run for the Cru, outdistancing 46 competitors.

            All the Best,

            Coach K
