Quick Feet: Quite the Feat at the First Meet

While facing the wild winds of Prague, Oklahoma, the Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy’s middle school girl’s track & field team competed in their first meet of the year on Tuesday, March 23rd. In her first meet of her career, Ava ran her fastest times in the 100m and 200m dashes, outpacing runners in both events.

Ella, meanwhile, took 5th in both the 800m run and the 1600m run, as well as finishing in 7th in the 400m dash. As a result, she earned multiple points for ILCA’s team and collected two medals as well! By putting in the work during cross country, Ella showed she was well-prepared for track this season.

Similarly, Meg also ran in three events and continued her excellent racing habits that she often demonstrated last fall during cross country. In the 800m run and the 400m dash, Meg finished second, respectively. Moreover, Meg took home a third medal in the 1600m run, finishing third.

Thus, the meet represented a most excellent beginning to the year, including multiple personal records set by the student-athletes. The runners were greatly assisted by their teammate, Ellie, who regularly called out running times as the runners raced to new bests–all while glorifying God with their bodies.

The middle school track & field student-athletes will next compete in Cushing next week.

All the Best,

Coach K
