A Fistful of Medals in Cushing and Vinita

ILCA’s Middle School Girls Track & Field teams continued its positive trend of collecting medals and notching more Personal Records (PRs) to the year’s tally on March 30th in Cushing and again on April 5th in Vinita.
Racing to 1st place in the 800m run in Cushing, Meg recorded her best time of the year in the event. Meanwhile, her teammate, Ella, also raced well, placing 4th in the event.
A bit later at the Cushing meet, Meg tied her then-best time of the year in the 400m, racing to a time of 75 seconds and collecting another medal as she earned 3rd place.
In the 100m and 200m dashes, meanwhile, Ella’s sister, Ava, earned PR times!
To close the Cushing meet, Meg and Ella combined for another spectacular run: in the 1600m, Meg won gold while Ella’s personal-best time earned her the bronze!
At Vinita, moreover, Meg and Ella took 1st and 3rd in the 800m run.
Debuting in her first meet of her career, Ellie ran with Ava in the 100m and 200m dashes. Ellie ran PR times in both events, while Ava ran her PR in the 200m!
Not to be outdone, Meg ran her fastest 400m time of the year and her fastest ¼ mile time at a meet ever, enabling her to finish in 2nd place.
Finally, Meg’s and Ella’s feet may have left burn marks on Vinita’s blue track, as they blazed a trail to 1st and 2nd place—all while running PR times!
That’s 9 medals and 10 PR times in just these two meets for the Lady Crusaders!
ILCA’s MS Track runners will next compete in Inola next week.
