Return to School Procedures

Dear Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy families,

Grace, Mercy, and Peace be unto from God our Father, and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

I hope this email finds you all well as we are now under a week before the start of our 19th academic school year on Wednesday, August 18 at ILCA. There is a lot of excitement and anticipation for the new school year. On behalf of the entire ILCA faculty and staff, we thank you for giving us the opportunity to love, care, and educate your children. I look forward to meeting you and building our partnership together.

As we look to the start of school, one thing we (meaning all schools across our nation) learned is that the health of our student body and our staff continues to be paramount to the success of our schools. Keeping that in mind, the ILCA Board of Trustees and I have met and, with the help of medical advisors, our local health department, faculty, staff, and families, will be starting school by having in person instruction. We will subscribe to the following COVID procedures as we start school…

• Wearing a mask is optional, but encouraged
• Social Distancing and podding will be encouraged in our classrooms and facility, when applicable
• Hand washing, hand sanitizing, and respiratory etiquette will continue to be taught and encouraged
• We will continue our cleaning routines and the maintaining of a healthy facility
• We will continue contact tracing in combination with isolation and quarantine timelines for individuals who show signs of COVID
• We will continue to monitor our students’ temperatures as they enter the school building and throughout the school day

As always, we will continue to monitor the health and safety of our student body and staff and adjust as needed and address any future issues as circumstances arise.

Once again, we welcome you to the beginning of the school year and pray for God’s continued health and growth of our students, staff, and school.
