As you probably heard already, the high school boys' game was an event we won't soon forget! It had been a tight game all night, with the teams trading leads but never by more than four points. The Crusaders were down by 1 point with 10 seconds left in the game. Nienhuis snags the rebound, passes to Koepsel, who passes to Banuelos, who dribbles down, gets a shot off, and misses. Watts is there for the rebound and with 0.5 seconds left, sinks the game-winning basket! The team and fans flood the court, and Dad gives the congratulatory hug! Immanuel wins 50-49. Great job, Crusaders! H Cowan led the team with 17 points before fouling out mid-4th quarter. Nienhuis knocked down 14 points, Banuelos put up 11 points, B Officer had 5 points and also ended the game on the bench due to fouls, Bacon added 2 points to the tally, and Koepsel sank 1 of his free throws to add a point. And of course, Watts with his infamous 2 points to beat the buzzer, in the words of B Smith, a "Beater Buzzer!" For the win! Friday (11/7), middle school girls had their 1st game of the season and faced NOAH. It was a tough 1st game, but we saw a lot of good things. NOAH was victorious over Lady Cru 42-16. Middle school boys also faced NOAH for their 2nd game of the season. Although NOAH was greater in size, Immanuel made up for it with hustle and tenacity; however, NOAH still came out on top, winning 32-15. NOAH does not have a high school girls' team, so they had a night off from games. Immanuel High School boys also had an extremely competitive game that was much closer than the score reflected, as NOAH finished the night with another win over Immanuel. Stats for the Tulsa Noah game. Final Score Immanuel 42, NOAH 62. Officer led the team in scoring and the boards with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Nienhuis & Bacon each put up 8 points and grabbed 5 and 2 rebounds respectively. Banuelos added 7 points and Cowan 5 points, each with 4 rebounds. Watts came down with 7 rebounds for Immanuel.
